Eight-year-old boy injured in Grimsby dog attack

An eight-year-old boy has been injured in a dog attack at a house in Grimsby.

Humberside Police said officers were called to the property on Rutland Street at around 16.45 BST on Wednesday.

The boy suffered injuries to his leg and is currently in hospital receiving treatment, the force added.

Det Insp Ade Adamson said the dog was believed to be a pocket bully and it had been “seized as part of our enquiries”.

“We are working closely with the boy’s family to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident,” he added.

East Midlands Ambulance Service said the patient was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital by the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

Video footage posted on social media showed the helicopter taking off from a nearby park.
