CRIME SCENE: Toronto senior accused of assaulting parking officer

A Toronto senior has been charged after a Toronto Police parking enforcement officer was allegedly assaulted last month.

Toronto Police responded to a call for an incident in the Bruce St.-Ossington Ave. area on Tuesday, May 14 at 5:09 p.m.

It’s alleged that a parking enforcement officer was conducting enforcement in the area and was issuing a violation notice to a vehicle stopped on a sidewalk when the driver approached the officer and pushed him twice.

Police said the driver returned to his vehicle, produced a large flashlight, approached the officer and allegedly began swinging it toward him.

Kien Lam Ong, 71, was charged with assault and assault with a weapon.

A senior – 65-year-old Barry Jarrett – was also charged in a similar incident in Scarborough on May 25.

15-YEAR OLD GIRL CHARGED IN COP ASSAULT

A female youth was arrested after allegedly attacking a police officer following a disturbance in Whitby.

Durham Regional Police said last Sunday at about 10:10 p.m., officers responded to a family dispute at a residence in the Taunton Rd. W.-Thornton Rd. N. area.

Police said a female from the residence was causing a disturbance with her parents and refusing to leave the property. After speaking with officers, the female agreed to leave the residence but wanted to retrieve her vape from her bedroom. Cops said when the female didn’t immediately get her vape, she allegedly attacked an officer before being restrained and taken into custody.

The officer attended a local area hospital for minor injuries.

A 15-year-old female from Whitby is charged with assault a peace officer and disobey an order of the court.

2 SOUGHT IN CHURCH BREAK-IN

Two men are sought after $400 was taken from a donation box during a break-and-enter at a church.

Toronto Police said two men forced entry into a place of worship in the Dohmen Ave.-Cranfield Rd. area on Wednesday, May 29 at about 4:10 a.m., fleeing with the cash on foot on the south side of Dohme Ave. Towards O’Connor Dr.

The first suspect is described as 30-35 years old and about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a white horizontal stripe, a black face mask, black baseball hat, black pants and sandals.

The second suspect is described as 30-35 years old and about 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8. He was wearing a dark jacket, with a black and white bandana covering his face, a black baseball hat, dark pants and black shoes.

Images of both suspects have been released.
