Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East has updated fans on how she is managing after unexpectedly giving birth at home. The 36-year-old BBC star took to social media with an adorable selfie featuring her newborn.
In a a message to her 838,000 followers, Fleur uploaded a snap to her Instagram story showing her slumped on the sofa snuggling with baby Nova. Writing over the snap she said: “Thanks to all of you for your well wishes and messages. I see all of you and I appreciate it.”
Before quipping: “This is me right now, chilling with Nova who has a FULL head of hair (dunno where she gets that from?!) we are both doing well.” This came after the X Factor star revealed she had given birth on her living room floor.
On Sunday, she confirmed she and husband Marcel Badiane-Robin had become first-time parents. The singer and Strictly: It Takes Two host told her fans that they were in a complete bubble.
Fleur explained that despite the tot only just arriving, it was hard for the couple to remember what life was like before she was born. The It Takes Two host has been giving regular updates on her journey into motherhood.
She uploaded a string of snaps to her main feed, looking radiant as she stepped out for some fresh air.
The images accompanied the announcement post as she carried the tot on her chest while out and about with her husband Marcel, 35.
Revealing Nova’s unconventional entrance to the world, fans were left gobsmacked when she confessed she gave birth in a squat position while at home.
She penned: “And just like that, our baby girl, Nova, is here!!”
“Our daughter entered the world via squat position into the arms of my Husband and me on our living room floor.”
Fleur continued: “One day I will share my birth story with you (what a RIDE!), but for now, we are resting and doing well”.
“So thankful to the amazing midwives who were by my side, my birthing partners (my auntie Tina and my Husband @marcel__robin) and all of our family who have been helping out and showering us with love.”
Before adding: “It really does take a village! So grateful to God for this blessing. Our little Nova was born on the 22nd of March and it feels like she’s always been here.”
Fans and famous friends rushed to the comments section to send their best wishes, with Strictly winner Ellie Leach writing: “Oh Fleur, welcome to the world baby Nova”.
While pro partner Vito Coppola said: ‘LOVE YOU GUUUUYYYYYYSSSSS Congratulations and welcome to NOVA”.
Meanwhile, Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse gushed: “Congratulations mommy”, before being joined by Loose Women’s Judi Love, who wrote: “Congratulations sweeties xx”.
