AFL 2024 round 10 LIVE updates: Suns torch Cats in hot conditions in Darwin as King takes lead in Coleman race

There’s been some big comebacks this year, but this aint going to be one of them. The Cats are cooked.

They might as well call time on this one and go and book an early morning barramundi fishing tour among the mangroves – make some good use of their time in Darwin.

It will be the Cats’ third straight loss after winning the first seven and they have slipped sixth on the premiership betting table. Hard to believe they still rate ahead of Essendon after this second-rate showing in Darwin.

The Suns midfielders have been supreme. Touk Miller, Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell have looked the equal of any on-ball brigade across the competition and have fed ample supply to their forwards.

They have turned Darwin into a fortress, handling the heat and the slippery conditions with ease. They had an eight goal third term, leading by 66 points and looking every bit the top eight side.

The Cats will be hanging out to get back to the cool confines of GMHBA, hopefully with a couple of barra in their fishing kits.
